Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 August 2026

Please read these terms before hosting or joining a room. By accessing or using Resonia ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Purpose of the service

Resonia is a real-time collaborative audio player for synchronized group listening. It is designed for creators, musicians, podcasters, and friends to share audio they own or are licensed to distribute (such as original songs, mixes, demos, and voice recordings).

Resonia is not a commercial music streaming platform, does not license commercial catalog music, and strictly prohibits the upload or distribution of copyrighted songs without legal authorization.

2. Host responsibility for uploaded audio

By uploading audio files to a room, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are the sole author and copyright owner of the audio, or
  • You have express permission, license, or legal right from the copyright holder to upload and stream the audio, and
  • Your content does not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, trade secret, or privacy rights of any third party.

Hosts remain solely and exclusively liable for all uploaded content. We do not pre-screen uploads, and we claim no ownership rights over your audio content.

3. Prohibited activities and conduct

You agree not to use the app to:

  • Upload or stream copyrighted music or media you do not own or have rights to distribute
  • Upload illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringing content
  • Use the room chat to harass, abuse, threaten, or impersonate others
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, probe vulnerabilities, or disrupt platform infrastructure

4. Service capacity and operational limits

To maintain service reliability and fair resource allocation, the following operational limits apply:

  • A maximum of 3 active host slots across the platform (first come, first served; expires after 24 hours or on logout)
  • 1 active room per host at any given time
  • Up to 1 GB total audio upload capacity per room
  • Up to 10 listeners connected simultaneously per room
  • Automatic deletion of all room data and audio files after 24 hours (or 6 hours if inactive)

5. DMCA & copyright takedown requests

We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on Resonia infringes your copyright, send a formal notice to support@resonia.app including: (1) identification of the copyrighted work, (2) the specific room link, and (3) a declaration of copyright ownership or authorization. We will promptly remove or disable access to reported infringing content.

6. Ephemeral data and room deletion

Rooms and audio files are temporary and ephemeral. When a host ends a room, logs out, or the 24-hour limit is reached, all audio files in Cloudflare R2 and database records are permanently deleted.

7. No warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect playback sync, or that content you upload will never be lost. Please keep your own copies of anything important.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including damages arising from content uploaded by hosts. If you upload infringing content, you (not the app) are responsible for any resulting claims.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from content you upload or share through the app, or from your violation of these terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate a host's access to the app at any time, particularly in response to copyright complaints or violations of these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@resonia.app.
